When the Mayflower landed at Plymouth Rock almost four centuries ago, settlers laid the foundations for a republic. Later, an Indian named Squanto found the hungry and ill Americans, then he ran to his tribe and told them that there were some sick people on the shore so the Indian tribe brought food from there farms and helped the settlers survive. They celebrated with a feast of thanksgiving, which Americans commemorate today.
